is the Centre for Education and Technology, Ministry of Education of Chile . Its mission is to help improve the quality of education through educational computing and the development of digital literacy among citizens with quality, equity and relevance.

  • Digital Divide Reduction teachers: The incorporation of teachers into the world of ICT has been a priority for links from its beginnings in the early pass. Thus, from its origins to date Links has trained 210,852 teachers in ICT use. While these are encouraging results regarding access to and use of ICT teachers, there are challenges ahead for the initial and continuing training of teachers, and the acquisition of skills for the use of ICT in learning contexts.
  • Change in perception of the role of ICT Links policy has been a change in the perception of the role technology can play in education. In the beginning there was no clear assessment of the role it could play educational computing. Today there is a high demand throughout the education system (and social) which offers fertile ground for the implementation of the new links policy.
  • Development of "core competencies" of the XXI century: There is increasing evidence that one impact of the presence of digital technology infrastructure in schools points in the direction of improving some of the Core Skills XXI century. " These could include digital skills, and those related to the search and selection of information, communication and teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Access to new technologies through schools: According to the results of the National Socioeconomic Survey (CASEN) for 2006 , 66% of students most vulnerable access to new technologies from school. Links has been the main public policy for inclusion in the country.
